Picture Day Retakes: It’s time to schedule retakes and order your school pictures. Both the retake day and the deadline to get free shipping to the school are Friday, December 8.
For those who need to do retakes (and those who missed picture day), we need to gather the information to coordinate with Stomping Grounds. Please send an email to me at firstname.lastname@example.org (email@example.com also will work) with your child’s name and class by Tuesday 12/5.
In case you missed the flyer, you can view your proofs and order by going to shop.stompinggroundphoto.com, entering the online code, which is PS303 + First 3 Letters of First name + First 3 Letters of Last Name (e.g. Victoria Jones = PS303VicJon).
Giving Tuesday and Our Mixed Bag Fundraiser: Giving Tuesday is a global day and has become a movement that connects people, businesses and organizations to celebrate and encourage giving.

Biggest shopping day of the year is almost here. Don’t forget to use our Amazon Smile link, when making your amazon purchases this weekend! A percentage of your purchase goes to AEA PS 303, with no cost to you.
As you’re shopping, you may want to consider a toy purchase for our Toys For Tots donation boxes, now set-up at school.
And save all those Box Tops from all your holiday grocery purchases. Another submission to the school will be happening in the Spring.

Hi Academy for Excellence Through the Arts Friends and Family!
Our mixed bag fundraiser is off and running. We are extending our mixed bag catalog fundraiser deadline until Monday, November 13. By that date we need you to send in the order forms and payment (checks written out to PTA of AEA or cash) in your child’s backpack. This will insure that we can receive all the items by December 8 (Hanukkah starts 12/12). By ordering on the paper forms, the items are shipped free to the school, there is no tax, and the PTA receives 50% of your purchase cost.
The following link will allow you to participate in our online mixed bag fundraiser: shop online & support ACADEMY FOR EXCELLENCE THROUGH THE ARTS. For the online fundraiser, you have to pay tax, shipping is not free for orders under $75, and the PTA only gets 40% of the purchase cost, so it’s better to do the on the paper forms if possible.
Help us raise funds for the great programs and resources we support at our school. Every order counts and I’m hoping you can take a moment to check it out.

Thank you to all the families that donated to the bake sale. We collected $564 in donations, which will go a long way towards purchasing great play/recess equipment for our children.
Out PTA Meeting is scheduled for this Thursday, November 2nd at 7 pm. As usual, babysitting will be provided. We hope to see you there!
Harvest Parade & Bake Sale: Our Harvest Parade is tomorrow. Please be on time for school and arrive in costume! Children will report to their classrooms and then come back outside for the parade at 8:45 am.
While parents wait they can mingle and enjoy treats and coffee at our Harvest Bake Sale! If you have signed up to donate an item, please bring it to the tables outside of the gates at 8:00 am. If you didn’t sign-up, but would still like to bring treats, please feel free to.

We need your help! Fewer than half of our families have contributed to our Annual Appeal so far. Without your donations, we will be unable to provide some vital programs not paid for by the NYC Department of Education. Please remember that a school’s budget is based on the number of students attending it. Ours is a small school, which has many advantages, but this also means that AEA families have always needed to fund certain programs ourselves.
Do you want our children to continue being among the top performers in New York City on the state ELA and Math tests? Their success is due in part to the PTA’s funding of Raz Kids, an online reading program, and Singapore Math, a specialized math curriculum that is taught at other top-rated schools in the city such as NEST+m.
Do you want our children to continue benefiting from the art instruction provided by Mrs. Stewart? The DOE does not provide the funding for her position. The PTA makes art in our school possible by contracting with Wingspan to hire a dedicated art teacher (Mrs. Stewart).
We need your tax-deductible contributions to help ensure that our children benefit from these and other excellent programs! We are grateful to those who have already contributed. The suggested donation amount is $300 per family, but we are urging all families to contribute within their means. And if you work for a company that offers matching donations, you can double your tax-deductible contribution!
Please consider sending a check or money order payable to The PTA of A.E.A. in your child’s backpack no later than next Monday, October 23rd. Please fill out and include the tear-off portion of this letter with your contribution.
